Handover delayed...
With the finish line in sight we were informed this week that the handover of our ship would be delayed ...😭
While we heard stories of other shipyards communicating extreme long delays, even up to 3-4 months, we were told Nautitech would still be delivering on schedule. Unfortunately supply line and personnel issues, combined with shifting priorities on the production line means Howdoo is planned to “splash” 6 weeks later. We now looking at mid April for the handover.
Following the delay we need to reschedule the delivery, solar installation and start of the charter operations. And we’ll not be able to use the kids school holiday (mei vakantie) for our first family holiday onboard.
On the bright side the temperature during the delivery will be a lot nicer, as we don't have a heater installed I already invested in a warm sleeping bag but was till a bit worried about the weather during the day.
We’ll now be able to us the school holiday to let our children christen the boat, join the seatrails (testing the boat out on the water) and wave me and the delivery crew goodbye.
So we'll learn to manage this delay, as we’ll be dealing with forced changes of plans more in the future.
